Matthew Lutheran, Landscape Designer

Matt is a landscape designer and a recent graduate from the University of Arizona’s landscape architecture program. His master’s report focused on native plant education and its application using installation art. Matt’s previous experience in both public and private sectors of landscape architecture includes landscape construction, horticulture, regional flood control design, graphic communication, research, and construction document preparation.

Matt was raised in Tucson and his background has influenced his affinity for the Sonoran Desert. He has also drawn on his experiences from outside Arizona working as an ecologist in Alaska and a teacher in Japan.  Matt relies on his ability to produce unique designs that utilize creative solutions, considering all project constraints to produce the most effective outcome for JStudio’s clients.

Outside the office, Matt spends his free time caring for his cactus and succulent nursery, swimming competitively with his master’s team, playing the original Nintendo, and looking for Tucson’s best sushi.
